Welcome to the bits and pixels!

This is - Technically - the First Post. The previous two:

This butterfly can have many effects but everyone likes just the rainbow.

and:

Control Panel Toy
Articles Projects Arduino DIY
What’s better than using an Arduino to create a toy for the kid? Using two Arduinos!

are just re-posts of my previous articles first published on Instructables (one is even just a link, I am that lazy).

Since this is a first time writing here, on bitsandpixels.io, I suppose this is a good time and place to discuss plans. Why go through all that effort of building a blog?

Well, for one I like the editing freedom; I can structure the article the way that I like, make it look like I want it to look. Sure, reach of the content will be much lower but I don’t mind.

Also, I’m one of those theme-hoppers, who every now and then get this urge to modify the visuals of stuff they use, be that a theme of the desktop environment, the colors in their favorite IDE, or the template of their website. There is no ricing potential when using 3rd party websites.

If you’re interested in the technicalities: this site uses Hugo with the awesome Blowfish theme, slightly adjusted.

But back to the plans (and it’s primarily note to self, so I don’t forget what did I want to write about…): I currently have a couple of DIY projects I work on, time permitting1 and there’s always been a couple of articles about software engineering I wanted to write. There could even be an odd2 post or two about theming Linux desktop environments.

So, you know, going to share various bits and pieces. Pixels, I mean pixels.

  2. What an odd thing to say about something even. ↩︎
